What is an EGG fest?
An Eggfest is a venue for Big Green Egg enthusiasts to showcase their talents on the Big Green Egg barbecue, grill & smoker. It is also an opportunity for those who have been contemplating owning a Big Green Egg to sample the foods and talk to other EGG enthusiasts. In other words the Eggfest is a good excuse to get a bunch of people together and make some great food. Cooks come from all over to showcase their talents and the attendees get the pleasure of being the audience. You may be wondering if you need to own a Big Green Egg to be a cook, and the answer is NO. There are demo Eggs available for people who wish to take an Egg for a test run. You never know, you may turn into an Egg Head yourself! If you do, don't worry, there will be Demo Eggs available for purchase at discounted rates. There will also be a wide variety of Big Green Egg accessories available for purchase at a discounted rate during the event.

The event will be held on Saturday October, 8th 2011. We are excited to be hosting the second annual DC METRO EGG FEST and we hope you will discover us and make the trip to come out and enjoy a our nation's capital. Along with the DC METRO EGGFEST, there are many local attractions that will fill up your weekend. Museums, art galleries, shopping malls, wonderful restaurants and much more. A myriad of attractions including the National Harbor are just a few short miles from our DC METRO EGGFEST Event, Lanham Location.

Begin you DC Metro Eggfest eggtivities by joing us for a "Night Before" Meet & Greet! You won't want to miss this time of getting to know your fellow Eggheads! Put forum names to faces, compare and swap recipes, talk the talk until we're all Green in the face!
This event will be held from 7-9pm in the casual dining atmosphere of Willy K's Restaurant located within walking distance of our host hotel, Holiday Inn Washington DC-Greenbelt, MD.
After the Meet & Greet, Willy K's has extended an open invictaion to stay as long as we like and join in on the fun and live music held at their Outdoor Patio & Bar. The cost is only $25 per adult (Children are invited for free)

At the end of our DC METRO EGGFEST, once-baked EGG packages are available for purchase by registered DC METRO EGGFEST attendees. These demo EGGs have been used only once at the DC METRO EGGFEST, and each package will include: Big Green Egg, which includes an external temperature gauge, dual function metal top, stainless steel mesh draft door, DVD, and manual, all of which is neatly seated in its very own Egg Nest.

Schedule of Events for D.C. METRO EGGFEST
07:30 am - Cooks allowed into the area to begin setting up
08:00 am - The inaugural lighting the EGGs
09:00 am - Registrants allowed in and samples start to be served
12:00 pm - Best Dish Contest Begins
01:00 pm - Best Dish Contest Judging
03:00 pm - Raffle drawing $200 gift card toward purchase of any Big Green Egg accessories (must be present to win)
03:00 pm - Eggs get shut down and final samples come off of the grills
05:00 pm - Demo EGG purchasers can start picking up their EGGs
